GM10: Advanced Geomodel Building

Back to training catalogue

Advanced Geomodel Building Level: Advanced Duration: 3 days

Next scheduling:

- 13-14-15 September 2016, Kuala Lumpur,1200 MYR (solidarity course)

- 20-21-22 September 2016, Kuala Lumpur, (In collaboration with PetroEDGE)

About this course:

Geomodelling is the corner stone between geological concepts underlying reservoir development and numerical solutions attempting to represent the reservoir. With the progress made in computing capabilities, highly demanding tasks such as 3D reservoir visualization, property prediction and dynamic simulation became routine and occupy most of the daily duty of the reservoir geologist/engineer.

The GM10 course explores the more advanced Geomodelling techniques by going through an advanced Geomodelling workflow for supporting a dynamic simulation.

Attendees of the GM10 course, will have the chance to go through a full Geomodelling cycle and replicate the main elements of the process step by step with a strong emphasize on best practices and most common pitfalls.

Under its current format, the GM10 course is tailored for a Petrel Geomodelling platform.

Attendees are encouraged to bring along their workstation and Petrel Licenses if they wish to use their own dataset during the course.

What to expect from the course:

- Get an overview of the more advanced Geomodelling tool usage in the subsurface domain

- Get a step by step overview of an advanced Geomodelling  workflow for supporting a dynamic simulation purpose

- Gain awareness on more advanced practices and pitfalls when building Geomodels for dynamic simulation purpose

- Ability to build an advanced Geomodel used as platform for dynamic simulation

Who should attend:

-  Development Geoscientists / Geomodellers who wish to bring their Geomodelling skills to the next level

-  More experienced staffs who wish to acquire / refresh their Geomodelling capability

Prerequisite:

Familiarity with basic Geomodelling workflow or attending GM01 course would be highly favorable
