 About the role:

GeomodL is looking to add a Senior Reservoir Engineer to its technical team to support the ongoing ambition of delivering subsurface project with Excellency, Integrity and Passion. The candidate will have the unique opportunity of contributing to the early life of what will (hopefully!) become a successful company. This position will mostly cover a 12-months project for a Client within Malaysia focusing on a LTRO (Locate The Remaining Oil) exercise. The Senior Reservoir Engineer is expected to:

-          Quickly get familiar with the area of interest

-          Get on top of the available data base

-          Interact with the Geomodeller, facilitate the reservoir static model handover to the simulation platform

-          Check the validity of the current history matched model,

-          Reconcile mismatches and implement recommendations

-          Perform LTRO exercise and propose area for further development being infill or Behind Casing Opportunities (BCO)

-          Integrate Surveillance data and current production figures to refine the LTRO model and refresh the port-folio of further development opportunities

-          Attend and actively participate to internal and external review meetings.

Candidate requirements:

GeomodL is looking for a candidate with a minimum 10 years experience. Prior experience and proven track record in 3 phases reservoir simulation is mandatory. Proficiency with Eclipse will be an advantage. Team working and openness are the key ingredients for success, the candidate must be willing to share his knowledge with less experienced reservoir engineers. The candidate must adhere to GeomodL’s values of delivering Excellency, demonstrating Integrity and performing with Passion. Preference will be given to candidates from the local workforce or foreigners holding a valid Resident Permit / Talent Pass in Malaysia.


The remuneration for this role which is open for negotiations will be in line with the industry standard for similar level of experience and duties. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, in KLCC area
